The Knowledge Pods principle
Source, ritual, recipe and reality, in five clear roles
A Knowledge Pod contains a Body of Knowledge: the definitive collection of sources around one topic. From documents and notes to codebase analysis, transcripts and raw data; everything Vic Boomer has assembled on the topic lives inside the Body of Knowledge within the Pod. The Pod is the container that makes this knowledge publishable, with version, provenance and manifest.
But a Pod is more than a collection to read through. What brings it to life is a Pill. A Pill is not an effect, it is a choice. The moment you decide which Program to run on this Pod. The Body of Knowledge stays the same. What changes is how you read it.
The Pill activates a Program. That is the recipe applied to the Body of Knowledge. The Mental Program turns it into a mental map. The Security Program turns it into a safety picture. The Build Program turns it into a build route. One Body, six Programs, six ways to experience it.
What a Program produces we call a reality. Not a claim about what is, but a directed view: a specific way to see the Body.
The five roles
| Role | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge Pod | The container, the publishable object | The OpenClaw Pod |
| Body of Knowledge | The collection of sources inside the Pod | Documentation, fieldguide, code analysis |
| Pill | The ritual of activation | Click the Mental Pill |
| Program | The recipe that runs | Mental Program reads through a thinking-model lens |
| Reality | The view that is produced | A mental map of the system |
The Matrix structure
These five roles together form a matrix. Literally, because that is exactly how The Matrix works: a Pod that holds a body, a Pill as the moment of entry, a Program that loads and a reality that emerges. Kung fu ability, helicopter piloting, agent confrontation; all realities. We borrow the structure, not the iconography. No red pills, no green cascade. What we keep: five roles, sharply separated, producing together.
Matrix is also mathematical: a grid where rows and columns intersect. Pod × Pill × Program = reality. Change one element, and the outcome changes with it. Predictable in structure, open in content.
One Body, many realities
The same Body of Knowledge can become a mental map, a safety picture, a build route, a beginner’s path, a technical map, or the source in its full reality. Each outcome is a different Program, activated by a different Pill.
What changes is not the source. What changes is what you get.
